How it was built.

Every video was read and compressed into a learning card holding the segment’s title, its themes, the rules it argues, the stories it tells and the figures it puts on screen. The twenty-two lessons were then built from the cards, not from the videos directly — a lesson whose evidence was thin is marked thin rather than padded to length. Long interviews posted as several cuts are cited once per interview, with the alternates named in the appendix so no conversation is counted twice.

In the author’s words.

A lesson may tell you the speaker claimed a number. A lesson does not tell you the number is true, because the book’s own materials do not know.

What is the speaker’s claim, and what is verified fact
